Position Summary
The Vice President of Commercial Concrete provides executive leadership for the company’s commercial concrete division, overseeing preconstruction, estimating, and field operations. This role is accountable for the strategic growth, profitability, and performance of the division, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and with exceptional quality. As part of the senior leadership team, the VP partners closely with the President and other executives to drive business development, client relationships, and long-term organizational success.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide executive oversight for all preconstruction and estimating functions, including bid strategy, subcontractor relationships, and proposal development.
- Lead operations for the commercial concrete division, ensuring alignment between estimating, project management, and field execution.
- Own P&L accountability for the division, monitoring budgets, margins, and cost controls to maximize profitability.
- Build and maintain strategic client and partner relationships, supporting business development and market expansion.
- Drive workforce planning, talent development, and succession planning to support growth.
- Establish, monitor, and continuously improve processes, systems, and performance metrics for efficiency and standardization.
- Partner with the President and leadership team on company-wide strategy, financial planning, and risk management.
- Represent the company at key industry, community, and client events.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and professional growth within the division.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in commercial concrete or a related construction trade.
- Proven track record of overseeing large-scale concrete projects, from preconstruction through completion.
- Strong business acumen with demonstrated P&L management experience.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with industry tools such as Bluebeam, Construct Connect Platform, and other estimating/project management platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
