Position Summary

The Assistant Superintendent plays a key support role in daily field operations for KCS Concrete projects. This position ensures job sites are clean, organized, and safe, while assisting with equipment transport, material handling, and basic construction tasks. Working closely with the Superintendent and project team, the Assistant Superintendent helps maintain project schedules, monitors safety standards, and supports overall site productivity. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone dependable, proactive, and eager to grow within the construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Support daily job site operations and ensure sites remain clean and safe.
• Assist with identifying and mitigating potential safety hazards.
• Operate and maintain construction equipment, including skid steers and mini excavators (if trained).
• Load, unload, and secure materials and equipment on trailers.
• Transport equipment safely using a truck with a 20–24’ trailer.
• Perform physical labor including lifting, standing for long periods, and working in various weather conditions.
• Follow daily schedules and instructions with minimal supervision.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 with a valid driver’s license.
• Insurable under KCS policy and able to pass a drug screening.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and site safety.
• Experience coordinating with teams and managing on-site operations.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive salary of $50,000-60,000/year.
