KCS is seeking a hands-on and client-focused Project Manager to oversee both commercial and residential concrete projects, with a strong emphasis on commercial work. This role serves as the key liaison between clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. The ideal candidate thrives in the field, frequently travels to job sites across Middle Tennessee, and excels at managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the on-site point of contact for all active projects, ensuring clear communication between clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Conduct pre-construction site walks with clients to assess project scope and site conditions.
- Manage day-to-day field operations, coordinating subcontractor work and ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
- Monitor project progress against budgets and schedules; proactively address delays or scope issues.
- Perform regular site visits across the region to track progress, troubleshoot issues, and ensure safety and compliance.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients through regular updates and site meetings.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless project execution, from mobilization through closeout.
- Ensure subcontractors are meeting expectations for quality, safety, and timeliness.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and daily field reports.
- Enforce job site safety practices and ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
Key Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of experience as a Construction Project Manager in commercial construction or concrete-specific roles.
- Strong understanding of commercial concrete work and general contracting project lifecycles.
- Proficient in estimating software and Excel; experience with Procore is a plus.
- Knowledge of local building codes, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities when working with vendors and internal teams.
