We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager to join our leadership team and play a critical role in shaping the future of our growing tax practice. About the Role

The Senior Tax Manager will serve as a key technical leader within our 35-person tax department, partnering closely with our Tax Partners to strengthen the team’s expertise, mentorship, and long-term succession planning.

This role is ideal for an experienced public accounting professional who enjoys the technical side of tax inclurding reviewing complex returns, navigating the tax code, and elevating the knowledge of those around them. While client advisory is important, the primary focus of this position is technical excellence, quality control, and developing Managers and staff.

You will help bridge the gap between long-tenured leaders and emerging talent, providing stability, guidance, and mentorship across the department. Collaboration, humility, and approachability are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Review Excellence

  • Serve as the primary technical reviewer of complex returns, including 1120S and 1065 entities
  • Provide expertise in 1031 exchanges, real estate partnerships, buy/sell agreements, and advanced entity structuring
  • Research and interpret complex tax code matters and provide clear guidance to clients and internal teams
  • Ensure compliance excellence while identifying strategic planning opportunities
  • Support advanced planning areas, including trust, estate, and exit planning strategies

Mentorship & Department Development

  • Mentor and coach Managers and Staff, helping them navigate complex technical issues and client scenarios
  • Teach advanced tax concepts and strengthen technical capabilities across the department
  • Model humility, empathy, and accountability in leadership
  • Help shape the next generation of firm leadership

Client Advisory & Strategic Planning

  • Support client relationships with technical depth and strategic insight
  • Assist with complex planning conversations and high-level tax strategy
  • Provide thoughtful, balanced recommendations aligned with client goals
  • Maintain a high standard of responsiveness and professionalism

Department Strategy & Succession Planning

  • Partner with Tax Leadership in strengthening processes and technical quality
  • Contribute to long-term department growth and leadership development
  • Take ownership of your book and leadership responsibilities

What We’re Looking For

Experience & Credentials

  • 10–15 years of public accounting experience
  • CPA or Enrolled Agent license required
  • Strong expertise in 1120S and 1065 returns
  • Experience with real estate partnerships and 1031 exchanges
  • Estate and exit planning exposure preferred
  • Minimum 1,200 billable hours annually

Work Environment & Flexibility

  • Hybrid work model
  • Preference for 2–3 days per week in office
  • If a dedicated office is desired, 4 days per week in office is expected
  • Core availability between 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Located in Green Hills, Nashville

We prioritize balance. Our 1,200 billable hour expectation reflects our belief in strong performance without sacrificing family and personal time.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $150,000-170,000 annually
  • Flexible work schedule
